Kevin Sussman is an American comedian and actress. He portrayed Stuart Bloom on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory and Walter on the ABC comedy-drama Ugly Betty, respectively. He was elevated to a series regular starting with The Big Bang Theory’s sixth season. One of four brothers born to Jewish parents is Sussman.
He was raised in Staten Island and received his high school diploma from New Dorp. He spent a year studying at the College of Staten Island before earning his degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan. He later spent four years studying acting with Uta Hagen.
Sussman began his career in advertisements for firms like FedEx during the dot-com boom, portraying geeks or nerds. He was a computer consultant at the time. As Alan Joseph Zuckerman, he made his acting debut in Liberty Heights in 1999. Sussman relocated to Los Angeles after being given the role of Ugly Betty.
