Naturally, Jeong-suk (Uhm Jung-hwa) has moved out, So-ra (Jo Ah-ram) knows the truth about Jung-min’s family, and In-ho (Kim Byung-chul) might divulge his wife’s name, but considering we were on the verge of a major affair disclosure, these seem to be staggered stages. Despite this, this chapter was nonetheless enjoyable and featured several hilarious moments.
Doctor Cha Season 1 Episode 9 Recap
How Does Jeong-Suk Act on Her Birthday?
Seung-hi notices her jealousy growing over the fact that she is not In-ho’s wife at her birthday dinner as Jeong-suk sincerely advocates for peace before departing (without interfering) to spend time with Eun-seo. The first-year resident covers her husband’s face with cake, which she giddily characterizes as cathartic, but there is still a lingering air of unease throughout the meal.
The rest of Jeong-suk’s family wonders in vain whether the resident is aware of In-ho’s affair when Jeong-suk excuses herself because she is sick of hearing bad memories of her wedding day. Seung-hiembraces her daughter in another location and sobs gently.
What Big Decisions Does Jeong-Suk Make?
After weeping herself to sleep and researching divorce, Jeong-suk leaves for a consultation but not before giving In-ho a subtly worded warning about having something to say. Here, the discouraged mother learns that there is no such thing as a “clean divorce” and is warned that her cheating husband may pick a battle with her during the divorce.
Roy Kim gives Jeong-suk support when he admits that he feels as though nothing is worth doing. As a result, Jeong-suk makes two significant decisions. The resident first moves into the dorms because she wants to leave her house with In-ho. Jeong-suk also makes the decision to volunteer as a doctor.

How Does Jeong-Suk S Volunteering Go?
The success of volunteering comes next. On house calls, Jeong-suk, who has a good heart, connects with patients in a sincere way, and as a bonus, she avoids In-ho. Deok-rye also reassures Seung-hi, who is appreciative, that the doctor’s mother, who died when she was a high school student, would have continued to watch her succeed.
Despite her praise for Seung-hi’s efforts in parenting Eun-seo alone, Ae-sim still adamantly demands that the doctor cease her relationship with In-ho.
The adulterous professor is asked to go to a faraway spot so he can help an elderly person evacuate bowel movements once more.
Seung-hi is sent to the hospital with what she thinks is a gastrointestinal cramp since In-ho frequently interferes with Roy Kim’s bonding times with Jeong-suk.
In addition, at the volunteer party, Jung-min and So-ra sneak out together to spend some time alone.

Doctor Cha Season 1 Episode 9 Ending Explained
However, this complicates matters. So-ra, while perusing Jung-min’s phone, comes across a video that exposes the familial connections of her lover and, in the process, establishes the marriage of In-ho and Jeong-suk.
