Cruel Summer Season 3 Plot
The unfortunate news is that we are leaving Skyline for a new location. True, even the setting will be different in season three. Showrunner Tia Napolitano hinted in a 2021 interview with Buzzfeed as to what might be in store: “I am aware that we also want to tackle something similar to what we did with hygiene. In addition to the mystery and character studies, we’d like to discuss something essential.”
However, Tia admitted at the time that they were “just getting started,” so who knows what themes might make it into the season. We now know that the upcoming episodes of the anthology series will take place in a picturesque waterfront community in the Pacific Northwest, but that doesn’t mean that things won’t get very chaotic.
Due to a complicated and twisted love triangle, the new season will chronicle the rise and fall of a teenage friendship. And what is a teen drama that is more compelling to witness than a love triangle? If there’s one thing that To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Riverdale, and The Summer I Turned Pretty have taught us, it’s that we’re all fools for them.
We are also modifying the schedules. In contrast to the first season, which featured three timelines in the 1990s, the second season features three timelines in the 2000s. We can’t wait for them all to discover the iPod or portable CD players for the first time, as well as attempt to navigate life with an AOL account. What a universe!
